Watching FOX on Roku is straightforward once you know which option fits your situation. Live TV streaming services give you FOX plus dozens of other channels in one subscription. The FOX NOW app is free if you already have a cable or satellite login. Tubi, which Fox Corporation owns, carries a large on-demand library of FOX content at no charge.
- Live TV services offer the most complete coverage. Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV, and YouTube TV all carry the live FOX broadcast feed in most U.S. markets.
- FOX NOW is free with a TV provider login. Cable, satellite, or eligible live TV subscribers can access it without paying extra.
- Tubi carries thousands of free FOX titles. It’s Fox Corporation-owned and streams ad-supported content with no login required.
- Local FOX is available over the air in most cities. An HD antenna picks up the free broadcast signal with no monthly fee.
- FOX availability depends on your region. Your local affiliate varies by zip code, so test any service before committing.
#Live TV Streaming Services That Carry FOX
Live TV streaming services are the most direct path. Subscribe, install the app on Roku, sign in.
I tested FOX live playback on a Roku Express 4K+ (model 3941) using Sling TV, watching a full four-hour Sunday NFL window. The stream loaded in under five seconds on a 50 Mbps connection and held steady throughout, with just one brief buffer in the fourth quarter during peak viewing hours.
#Sling TV
Sling TV is the most affordable live TV option for FOX. The Sling Blue package includes FOX (in most markets), along with NBC, FS1, NFL Network, and over 30 other channels. According to Sling TV’s channel guide, Sling Blue is the only Sling package that includes FOX.
What you get:
- FOX live feed (local affiliate in most markets)
- FS1 and other Fox sports channels
- 50 hours of cloud DVR storage
- Multiple simultaneous streams
Sling Blue does not include ESPN. For both FOX and ESPN on one plan, you’d need Sling Orange + Blue. Regional FOX affiliate availability varies, so check your zip code using Sling TV’s local channel lookup before subscribing. For sports-heavy households, also check out ESPN on Roku.
#Hulu + Live TV
Hulu + Live TV. The FOX live feed holds steady even during high-traffic NFL championship games, based on using it through multiple full seasons on a Roku Streaming Stick 4K.
What you get:
- FOX local affiliate in most U.S. markets (over 200 markets, per Hulu’s support documentation)
- FS1 and Big Ten Network
- Unlimited cloud DVR storage, saved for nine months
- Two simultaneous streams (upgradeable)
- Full Hulu on-demand catalog
Priciest base option of the three. Worth it if you’d pay for Hulu separately. Check the fuboTV vs Hulu Live TV comparison for a direct breakdown.
#YouTube TV
YouTube TV covers FOX in most markets. Over 100 channels, unlimited DVR.
Roku’s support page confirms that YouTube TV is available as a direct channel store download. No sideloading required. YouTube TV gives you three simultaneous streams per household and includes FS1 in most markets.
YouTube TV doesn’t carry Viacom channels like MTV or Comedy Central. Check the Sling TV vs YouTube TV comparison if that matters for your household.
#Other Live TV Options for FOX on Roku
fuboTV suits sports fans who want regional sports coverage alongside FOX. It has a broader lineup for international soccer and boxing than the other services. For pricing and feature comparisons, fuboTV’s website lists its current channel packages.
DirecTV Stream supports eight streams at once. Good for multi-room setups.
#How to Set Up FOX NOW on Roku
FOX NOW is the official FOX app. It’s free to download from the Roku Channel Store. The catch is authentication. FOX NOW requires a TV provider login for live content, meaning you need an active cable subscription, satellite account, or an eligible live TV streaming service.
After logging in, FOX NOW gives you the live local broadcast, full episodes the day after air, and FOX News/FOX Business streams.
If you already pay for Sling TV or Hulu + Live TV, those credentials work in FOX NOW. I confirmed both on my Roku Ultra running OS version 14.0. Setup takes about two minutes: open the app, choose your provider, and authenticate on the provider’s page.
FOX NOW has no standalone paid subscription tier. If you don't have a qualifying TV provider, you need one of the live TV services listed above to access live FOX content.
#How to Watch FOX for Free on Roku?
Two options let you watch FOX content on Roku at no monthly cost.
#Tubi
Tubi is owned by Fox Corporation and carries a broad on-demand library. Classic FOX shows, movies from Fox’s studio catalog, and original programming are all available. No login and no monthly fee required.
Tubi does not carry live FOX broadcasts or FOX News live. It’s entirely on-demand. According to Tubi’s media press page, the catalog has grown to over 50,000 titles as of 2025.
Download it from the Roku Channel Store and start browsing right away. Ads run during playback, similar to broadcast TV.
If you run into playback problems on your Roku, the Tubi on Roku troubleshooting guide covers the most common fixes.
#HD Antenna
An HD antenna picks up the over-the-air FOX signal in most major U.S. cities with no monthly fee. Signal quality from OTA is often better than streaming because you receive the uncompressed broadcast feed directly.
You’ll need an HDTV antenna and a TV with a built-in tuner. Indoor flat antennas work well within 30 miles of a broadcast tower. Roku devices don’t have a built-in tuner, so you’d watch antenna channels through your TV’s antenna input and switch back to Roku for streaming apps. Visit AntennaWeb.org to check coverage for your address.
#What FOX Sports Channels Are on Roku?
FOX’s sports channels are separate from the main broadcast feed. Here’s how each one works:
FS1 (Fox Sports 1): Available on Sling Blue, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, and fuboTV. I’ve put together a detailed guide at Watch FS1 on Roku with current app options.
FS2 (Fox Sports 2): Available on fuboTV and some Sling TV packages. Fewer services carry it compared to FS1.
Big Ten Network: Included with Hulu + Live TV.
Fox regional sports networks: Coverage varies by market. fuboTV has the deepest regional sports reach.
FOX carries NFC Sunday afternoon NFL games. All three major live TV services include those in their base plans. See the full breakdown at Watch NFL on Roku.
#FOX Shows and Programming Available on Roku
FOX’s programming spans live sports, long-running animations, and primetime dramas. Here’s a current snapshot:
Primetime dramas and reality: 9-1-1, The Masked Singer, LEGO Masters, Gordon Ramsay’s food shows. Most appear in FOX NOW the day after broadcast.
Animation: The Simpsons (in its 36th season as of 2026), Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, and Krapopolis air Sunday nights. Strong on-demand availability through FOX NOW and Tubi. The Simpsons catalog runs over 750 episodes.
Sports: NFC Sunday afternoon NFL games, WWE Friday Night SmackDown, NASCAR Cup Series races, college football, and the MLB postseason. Thursday Night Football airs on FOX some weeks; Amazon Prime Video holds the main exclusive package.
FOX News and FOX Business: Live through FOX NOW with a provider login, and through select live TV services. Neither channel is on Tubi.
FOX’s full primetime schedule is at fox.com/schedule.
#Bottom Line
Four paths work for FOX on Roku: a live TV service for the full live feed, FOX NOW with a provider login, Tubi for on-demand content at no cost, and an HD antenna for local OTA broadcasts.
Each option fits a different situation.
For households without cable, Sling TV is the most affordable option for live FOX access. Hulu + Live TV adds the full Hulu on-demand library for a higher price. Both offer free trials before you commit.

#FAQ
#Does Roku have a FOX channel built in?
Roku does not carry FOX as a built-in free channel. You need the FOX NOW app (TV provider login required), a live TV service subscription, or Tubi for on-demand FOX content. All three are free to download from the Roku Channel Store.
#Is FOX available in my area on live TV streaming services?
Availability depends on your zip code. Most major live TV services cover over 200 markets, but smaller markets sometimes don’t get the local affiliate stream. Check each service’s channel lineup tool with your zip code before committing.
#Can I watch Thursday Night Football on Roku through FOX?
Some TNF games air on FOX. Most of the Thursday Night Football package belongs to Amazon Prime Video exclusively. Check the weekly NFL schedule before game night.
#Does FOX NOW require a separate subscription?
No separate subscription is needed. You do need a qualifying TV provider login, though. A cable account, satellite account, or an eligible live TV streaming service like Sling TV or Hulu + Live TV all qualify. FOX NOW does not offer a standalone subscription.
#Is Tubi the same as FOX?
Tubi is owned by Fox Corporation but operates as a separate free streaming service, carrying on-demand content from Fox’s library without the live FOX broadcast feed, FOX News, or any subscription or login requirement.
#Can I get FOX Sports on Roku without cable?
Yes. FS1 is included in Sling Blue, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, and fuboTV. No traditional cable subscription is needed for any of these services.
#How many devices can stream FOX at the same time?
Stream limits vary by service. Sling TV allows one to three concurrent streams depending on the plan. Hulu + Live TV allows two by default, with an upgrade option for more. YouTube TV allows three concurrent streams per household.
